Car Model

A video of a 1957 Pontiac Bonneville and a Franklin Mint model of the same that I have.
It was actually a Star Chief with more chrome and of course the fantastic engine options.
The Bonneville everyone remembers came out as a hard top and convertible in 1958 and twins to the 1958 Chevy Impala hardtop and convertible.  This '57 is very rare.
I thought you'd like a look at this extremely rare 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. 1957 was the first year for the Bonneville and it was only offered as a convertible. When it was introduced, the Bonneville was the fastest Pontiac ever produced. This Bonneville is number 116 of the only 630 produced in 1957.

Merry Christmas

We dodged the bullet last week and missed the snow that dumped 10 inches in western KS.
It's now clear with temperatures predicted to be near 50 all week.  Not bad for Christmas.
I spent most of the day at the usual shopping areas and didn't find huge crowds.

Beijing

Chinese Capitol has 5 ring roads, all limited access with the outer ring collecting tolls like the super freeways that cross the country.  Photos start with the outer ring and move inward as you can see by the congestion.  It appears to be a very regimented organized  and well planned array of freeways.  Photos collected from Google Earth.

Precious Moments

I came up US 71 from Arkansas to KC this afternoon stopping in Carthage, MO to stretch my legs and took the advise of a sign beckoning me to Precious Moments.
This kind of thing is not usually my cup of tea, but I must say I enjoyed the grounds.
The photos illustrate only a portion of the campus.  Enjoy.

Bentonville, Arkansas

Today was climaxed with a visit to Crystal Bridges, a new Museum of American Art.
It's a must see for anyone remotely interested in Art, Architecture and/or Nature.
Also toured the Walton Museum in Bentonville and a drive on the roads to Beaver Lake.

Northwest Arkansas

Drove through Noel, MO. on highway 59 then into Arkansas skirting around the urbanized areas that march down US 71 / I-540.
My destination was the 'new' airport west of Bentonville known as XNA, from there I went on south to the Arkansas Air and Military Museum in Fayetteville.

Good Song

Should never tune off the news on my most pleasurable drive to work and come across a Great Song, so good  I couldn't stop humming it all day.  That goes over real well in meetings.
Then I remembered the video I did some time back featuring That Song and a little simulator flight to go with it.  Enjoy.

Cold Outside

In Manhattan there was a final football game, KSU over Iowa State  ending a great season.
In Lawrence there was an old fashioned parade and it was also cold and rainy.

Night Lights

We've all seen night photos of earth from Satellites showing the bright lights of Paris and Buenos Aires and dark spots over North Dakota, North Korea and the Sahara.
The photo below is from the International Space Station and seems to be aimed right at my house (you can't see it since I only have one small 13W burning).
